Marshall Area Wage & Benefit Survey

Sixty-three companies representing 3331 employees recently completed the bi-annual wage and benefit survey conducted the Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce.  The study, including Marshall and the immediately adjacent areas, was administered in the fall of 2004.  The survey was distributed to over 300 chamber member businesses.

The survey is used to gather data about wage, benefits, openings and other information about Marshall’s labor market.  Local businesses, prospective businesses and others use the information to identify trends in the workforce, to compare wages throughout the state and to determine other factors that influence their business.

“It’s one of the most requested pieces of information that we compile,” says Tracy Veglahn, President/CEO of the Chamber.  “We are asked for information that’s more locally based and more up-to-date than what’s available from the state of Minnesota.”

Since the survey is self-reported, the results of this study should only be used as a guide to trends in the area of wage and benefits in the Marshall Area.
