Highway The city of Marshall is services and accessible from US Highway 59 and Minnesota Highways 19, 23 and 68. There are no local restrictions for full load semis. Marshall also has access to the interstate highway system in several directions. Interstate 90 is located 63 miles to the south, and Interstate 29 is 50 miles to the east. Rail The Burlington Northern / Sante-Fe Railroad serves the City of Marshall with their mainline Minneapolis / Kansas City route. They provide twice a day switching service for industries requiring rail transport. Rail deliveries to the east and west coasts are reached the sixth morning after departing Marshall. Chicago markets receive product shipments from Marshall on the fourth morning following dispatch. Several land sites are available in Marshall that offer both expansion potential and rail access. Air The City of Marshall has a general aviation airport with two paved and lighted runways (5010 foot primary and 3207 foot secondary) that are available for use by private planes and jets. Current navigational aids include VOR, ODALS, VASI, OMNU, UNICOM and a weather computer. An instrument landing system (ILS) was commissioned in 1996. A new arrival and departure building unequaled in a community of Marshall's size was completed in 2002. Midwest Aviation offers an air charter service from the Marshall Airport to Minneapolis / St. Paul (60 minute flight time) and to Sioux Falls, SD (30 minutes). Trucking There are four common carrier trucking companies located in the Marshall area providing heavy hauling, dry and bulk liquid, local cartage and motor freight services.
