Minnesota West Community and Technical College

The newest member of the Marshall educational community is Minnesota West Community and Technical College, which opened a new site in downtown Marshall in 1999.

The new site offers courses in specialized technical areas that were not previously available in the community.  These courses will complete and compliment the higher educational opportunities offered by Southwest Minnesota State University.

Minnesota West strives to meet the educational and training needs of area business and industry by providing short-term courses and specialized training.  Computer courses, workshops and seminars can all be developed to fit a company's specific needs.

Minnesota West has five southwest Minnesota campuses in Canby, Granite Falls, Jackson, Pipestone, and Worthington.  It provides liberal art and technical training to over 3500 full and part-time students in over 80 majors.

Students have the opportunity to begin their four-year degree at Minnesota West, or to concentrate on a highly specialized technical field close to home.  Minnesota West offers majors in agriculture and environment, business, construction, computer, food and personal services, health, media communications, technical and manufacturing, and transportation and mechanical.
