Garbage
and Trash pick up in the City of Marshall and throughout
Lyon County is provided by Southwest Sanitation - (507) 532-4500 or by Waste
Management - (507) 929-4040.
Recycling
is encouraged by Marshall residents. Recycling bins can be
purchased from the City Clerk's office. Call (507) 537-6763 for
fee amount. Recyclables are picked up curbside the same day as
garbage pickup. For detailed recycling info call the Lyon

Household Hazardous Waste
Facility accepts
hazardous wastes from residents Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 4:30
p.m. & on the second Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The
Lyon
County
Landfill, located 10 miles south of
Marshall
, accepts garbage/trash for disposal. They are also a collection point
for appliances, electronics and tires. These items are not disposed of
in the landfill but are shipped off for recycling/reuse. Hours
of operation: 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 12
p.m. Saturdays. There is a fee for disposal at the landfill.

To
compost your yard
and garden wastes, the City of
Marshall
provides a community compost site just east of the Archer Daniels
Midland Company plant on County Road 33. Deposit your yard
waste, and pick up a free load of compost!
