Community Transit Services

Need a lift?  The Community Transit services of Western Community Action Inc. Transportation can help to eliminate your transportation worries.  Choose from a variety of services provided to all residents regardless of age or income by the Marshall Area Transit, Lyon County Heartland Express and Volunteer Driver Programs all part of the Community Transit family.

Community Transit serves the general public within the City of Marshall by providing curb-to-curb transportation services between the hours of 5:45 AM and 10:45 PM.

Dispatch hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  To schedule a ride, call (507) 537-7628.  For a guaranteed ride, please schedule your ride 24-hours in advance.

MAT services operate on a shared-ride basis.  The transit system will coordinate requests to pick up and deliver more than one person at a time.  The Community Transit buses are lift accessible.

The Volunteer Drivers use their own vehicles when bus options are not available.  Rides to various communities can be  scheduled, including the Twin Cities, Sioux Falls, Willmar and  Worthington. Rides can be provided for work, medical/dental appointments, daycare, preschool, senior center activities, shopping, and many other reasons that you may need a ride.  Special Event bus services can also be arranged in advance to meet your specialized transportation needs.  There is a charge for rides provided by Volunteer Drivers.

The Western Community Action Transportation serves residents of Lyon, Lincoln, Cottonwood, Redwood, and Jackson counties.
