Located in Southwestern Minnesota, our community is centrally located and serves as the retail, educational, and cultural hub of the region. Our community is conveniently located just off 3 major highways, which makes us a short drive from anywhere.

The Marshall area is a place for families to grow and learn together, where families play ball in the backyard and kids rollerblade in the streets. The area is place for families to thrive and inspire.

People are a little friendlier here. Neighbors are happy to lend each other a hand, and strangers say hello. Families are a little stronger here, too, thanks to a community spirit that brings our region together for many unique celebrations and events. It’s a better place, thanks to the people. In our great community you’ll find tidy streets under broad expanses of shade trees. We believe that in a place where neighborhoods still matter, the American dream really does exist. Our City offers an environment with the great amenities of much larger cities and the safety and convenience of a small town. Marshall is largely residential. Most of the people who work here also live here and the predominant form of housing is single-family homes. Some of the features that make Marshall a great place to live are diverse educational opportunities, safety, parks and theaters, and a cost of living considerably lower than that found in larger communities.

Marshall offers excellent educational opportunities. We are the home of Southwest Minnesota State University, renowned as being among the nation’s top in educational values for a four year institution of higher education. Our public and private schools are some of the best the state and region have to offer.

Marshall has a strong and varied faith community. Over 20 faith structures adorn our cities representing more than a dozen denominations.
